The design challenge was to incorporate Harley Davidson's legendary image through a contemporary structure fusing it's past century of retail brand with the present. Conceptually the intention was to invoke a sense of nostalgia by creating a steel structure that reverted back to it's industrial beginnings. The tight site restraints allowed for the different functional components to be housed within varying sized sheds juxtaposed against each other, creating a perception of buildings having been incorporated over time. This image was further enhanced through the use of timeless material choices of limestone, unpainted stucco and stained concrete.
